Drugs = good. Choking games = bad.
See? She's confused about what all the fun is about, too.
A new form of Darwinism?
I thought this story was going to talk about autoerotic asphyxiation, but it's really just about kids who like to be just on the verge of passing out.
Now, where is the fun in that? I've passed out before, and there's nothing fun about it.

Dr. Shapiro is quoted as saying it is something kids have been doing for a long time. duh!
I remember almost 40 years ago when some kids in 5th or 6th grade figured out where to apply pressure on the neck for the "sleeper hold" of wrestling fame. Sure enough, down went the victim.
The kids probably got tired of spinning around and around until they fell down. I wish I could still play that one.
Did anyone else play "Statue-it"? That was the game where an older or bigger kid would hold your arms and spin around, then let go, launching you like an Olympic hammer. The object was to try to hold your position when you landed. Funniest landing won. Older brothers are wonderful.
I feel very sad for the parents of these kids though.
